LA BONEPet Spa

La MaisonOur story

Twenty-fiveyears,one address,no shortcuts.

La Bone Pet Spa & Boutique has been keeping four-legged family looking gorgeous and feeling pampered since 2000 — from a kitchen floor, to a garage, to the shop on Stirling Road.

Jennifer began the business about twenty-five years ago, grooming pets in the kitchen of her apartment. When she bought a house, she groomed out of the garage. Shortly after that she purchased the store at its present location on Stirling Road and turned it into a pet spa.

Word travelled further than anyone expected. The shop takes clients from as far north as Jacksonville and as far south as Key West — people who plan a drive around a grooming appointment, which is either flattering or slightly unhinged, depending on how you look at it.

Walk in today and you are greeted by the owner and by the canine management: Popcorn, Macarena, and Lucy the Maltese, who models the store’s clothes and hip hair styles and considers this her primary occupation.

There is a saying that one should never let his avocation become his vocation. Whoever came up with that never met Jenny, who turned a lifelong devotion to animals into what has quietly become one of the longest-running independent pet businesses in South Florida. She currently has six dogs. This is not a coincidence.

Nos PrincipesHow we work

Four thingswe don’t bend on.

Le Personnel

The people

Staff are trained in proper handling, in reading dog expressions and body language, and in spotting the signs and symptoms of illness — because a groomer has their hands on your dog for three hours and will notice a lump, a hot spot or an ear infection long before you do. Training is ongoing; the trends and the products change every year and we keep up with them.

Le Métier

The craft

We are meticulous, and we ask you to be too. Give us clear, specific instructions — “short but not shaved”, “leave the ears long”, “last time was too short” — and bring a photograph if you have one. Ninety per cent of grooming disappointments are a vocabulary problem, and thirty seconds of conversation at drop-off solves them.

Le Calme

Keeping it calm

Dogs are worked on quietly and dried by hand, never left in a cage dryer. If your dog has separation anxiety, bring something that smells like home — a t-shirt, a blanket — and we will keep it with them. Nervous dogs are given more time, not less, and we will tell you honestly if a shorter, simpler groom is the kinder choice today.

La Boutique

The boutique & bakery

On one side of the shop: pet clothing from the quirky to genuine high-end fashion, showcases of jewellery and personalised rhinestone collars, and special orders for anything we do not stock. On the other: a full line of all-natural pet foods and freshly baked gourmet treats from our own pet bakery. Feeling good on the inside matters as much as looking good on the outside.

La BoutiqueThe shop floor

Not a webshop.A shop.

Everything in the boutique and the bakery is sold in person, at the counter. No cart, no shipping, no checkout — come in, or call and we’ll put it aside for you.

La Mode

Couture & collars

Rows of pet clothing, from the frankly quirky to genuine high-end fashion, plus showcases of jewellery and personalised rhinestone collars. If it is not on the rail, it can be special-ordered.

La Table

Food & nutrition

A full line of all-natural pet foods. Jenny’s training covers canine nutrition, so ask — you will get a straight answer about what suits your dog, including when the answer is “not that one”.

La Boulangerie

The pet bakery

Gourmet treats baked fresh in-house. Feeling good on the inside matters as much as looking good on the outside, and dogs are not subtle about which they prefer.

Les Soins

Care & grooming kit

The brushes, shampoos and coat products we actually use on the table — so what you do at home between appointments works with the groom instead of against it.

Call to ask what’s in

Looking for something specific? We special-order what we don’t stock.
